BirthCertificatesUSA can obtain a copy of a birth certificate, or confirm the birth of an individual in the state of New Jersey, our researchers conduct a search of the birth records in the county, parish or borough where the Birth Certificate was issued. We obtain an original copy of the birth certificates that can be used for travel in Mexico and Canada, for driving license and passport applications.

PLEASE NOTE: Turnaround Time for the State of New Jersey is approximately 10-15 business days. If the person named on the birth certificate was born in Jersey City, then we cannot process the request.

Costs can and do vary! The state can and does change its prices without any warning. We try to keep these web pages up to date, but the actual and most current price will be shown on the order page when you order online. To check the most current price, click HERE. There is a minimum $14.95 charge for each additional certified copy ordered at the same time. If you would like to rush your request then there will be an additional charge of $25.00.

A signed release may be required to obtain a copy of the Birth Certificate.  New Jersey law states that Birth Certificates can ONLY be made available to the following individuals:

Person Named on the Certificate

Mother/Father (or Legal Guardian)

Legal Representative of an Authorized Person

Individuals with a legitimate and legal reason to
       search for genealogical purposes

Birth Certificates MAY also be released to the following, IF we are provided with the documentation proving one of the relationships specified below:

Husband/Wife of Person Named on Certificate

Son/Daughter of Person Named on Certificate

Sister/Brother of Person Named on Certificate

If you fall into one of the three relationship categories listed above, then please CALL US at 1.800.315.7678 before making your order so that we can make sure that we meet the state documentation requirements. Otherwise your order may be delayed while we contact you for the additional information.

Delivery Time:  Results are sent to you either by regular US Postal Service mail. We are able to fulfill rush orders using an express carrier such as FedEx, but rush orders can ONLY be delivered to a street address, not to a PO Box or military address. We cannot guarantee turnaround time as we are dependent on the state getting back to us in a timely fashion, and this can vary widely with the load that the records office is experiencing. County offices have limited personnel and are often swamped with paper work.
